STEM

From coding and robotics to environmental science and stewardship, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities challenge students to pose questions, form hypotheses, and find answers—all while building important 21st-century skills.

Horizons students build strong foundations in math and science through daily instruction that develops essential numeracy skills and prepares them for the year ahead. STAR assessments help teachers tailor math instruction so students master key concepts and strengthen their confidence.

Beyond traditional academics, students dive into hands-on, project-based STEM enrichment that lets them tinker, explore, create, and discover.

For older Horizons students, STEM learning also includes financial literacy, using practical math skills to calculate college costs, forecast potential earnings and expenses, and apply for financial aid and scholarships. It’s no wonder Horizons graduates say their exposure to STEM and other project-based activities has increased their interest in math and science—and helped shape their career choices.

This summer I loved learning about personal finance. It helps me feel prepared.
