The decentralized Horizons Network thrives by accessing the broadest possible spectrum of funding and promoting local program ownership.
- Horizons affiliates run programs locally, and each forms their own unique community
- With no standard Horizons curriculum, teachers and staff have freedom to create student-centered classrooms using Horizons' project-based, whole-child approach to teaching
- Horizons programs collaborate with in-person and virtual student learning opportunities, field trips, community celebrations, grant opportunities, and professional development
- Each year, Horizons leaders have continued opportunities to connect and learn from one another through monthly meetings, professional development sessions, local and regional gatherings, planning groups and Communities of Practice, and Horizons National's Annual Conference
