"Hi I’m Maggie Rosario, I currently attend Norfolk State University as a social work major.

I’ve been in Horizons since kindergarten (2005!!) and I have never imagined a summer without it! I went from student to student aid and now to teachers assistant. It’s my home away from home! I met my best friend in the program and I gained the courage and experience needed to academically grow into the successful student I am today. The teachers and staff have watched me grow up and have continued to encourage me even outside the program, for example Mrs. January and Mr. Trowbridge attended my high school graduation! And gave me their best wishes for my first college graduation! I still feel their support now while I am working for my bachelors! I absolutely love Horizons and will encourage anyone who will listen to attend the program. Horizons works hard to make sure their students go as far as they can in school and in their lives. I have a lot of happy memories with Horizons such as being a student and going on field trips to college campuses and the beach as well as lots of fun memories as a student aid and teachers assistant like getting pie'd in the face and singing birthday songs at lunchtime. Having Horizons virtually was definitely different but I still enjoyed teaching kids in new ways and seeing their creativity shine through our screens! I am so grateful to be a part of such a special program such as Horizons and I am excited to see what the future holds for it!"
