Site Director, Horizons National Chicago at St. Catherine St. Lucy School

Position Summary:
An integral part of the Horizons at St. Catherine St Lucy team, the Site Director manages and leads a diverse staff; overseeing all program activities and operations, including ensuring quality programming; hiring and supervising staff and volunteers; annual budget planning and management; and broadening Horizons’ base of support through fundraising and marketing initiatives. This role also serves as the face of Horizons at St. Catherine St. Lucy; working to build external-facing relationships to increase awareness of the program, expand partnerships, and position Horizons as a thought leader in the out-of-school-time space.Horizons at St. Catherine St. Lucy offers a strong community of support from committed families, and a collaborative Board in partnership with host school members, local community stakeholders and partner school representatives. As part of a national network, Horizons at St. Catherine St. Lucy’s Site Director has access to professional development opportunities; peer to peer learning and collaboration; and programmatic and strategic guidance from Horizons National, the hub of the national network.
This position is part-time.
Position Details:
- Program planning and curriculum development, responsive to the needs of the program participants
- Recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers; creates an environment that inspires the retention of program staff year-over-year
- Coordinating use of facilities with host school
- Ensuring compliance with all state licensing requirements
- Coordinate with Regional Director to prepare and monitor the program’s annual budget
- Planning off-campus trips and on-campus enrichment programming
- Day-to-day management of all program components
- Administer the preparation and submission of required data to Horizons National and Regional Director, as applicable
- Drive the student recruitment process, interacting with school principals, teachers, guidance counselors, and families as necessary
- Maintain current awareness of Horizons program tenets, measurement mechanism of program quality and reporting tools (ex. Quality Band, Affiliate Resource Library, Salesforce, etc.), and utilizes as a benchmark for program and staff evaluation, as applicable
- Support program marketing and communication efforts by capturing digital program content weekly, reporting on key activities during the program (adhering to parent restrictions), and during other interactions with program participants and their families throughout the year, as applicable
- Help to steward relationships with donors/community stakeholders by hosting and facilitating
program site visits and participate in networking and speaking opportunities to raise awareness of Horizons, as applicable and requested - Share program updates with Board of Directors
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in leadership roles in a nonprofit setting, preferably in an organization with a focus on education, out-of-school time programming or youth and families
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive and respectful relationships, with a sense of cultural competency and experience with working with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Experience building relationships with and participating in feedback conversations with colleagues and/or parents, is preferred
- Familiarity with program administration, including operations, budgeting, and staff management
- Highly organized and detail oriented with program planning experience and the ability to manage competing timelines and many details at once
- Demonstrated commitment to serving under-resourced, diverse communities, and commitment to understand how systems impact our families and societal systems
