Horizons at Radcliffe Creek

The Kent County, Maryland Horizons program began in 1995 at Kent School. Now Horizons at Radcliffe Creek School, we have gone through several changes in the last year. Our campus is now at a local private school for learning challenged students - very child-friendly, supportive, and closer to downtown Chestertown.

Days at Horizons begin with breakfast and two hours of individual and small group reading, writing and math instruction. Three times a week after lunch, students swim at a beautiful new community pool and take lessons from a Red Cross trained Water Safety Instructor, or participate in STEM (science, math, engineering, technology) experiments incorporating science, social studies and the arts. Students have a choice of clubs to join which includes drumming, cooking, and soccer. We partner with Sultana Projects to canoe on local creeks and with Echo Hill Outdoor School for environmental education, taking advantage of the rural nature of our location.  We serve approximately 72 children, grades K-5, at our six-week summer program and are hoping to serve older students as we continue to grow.
