Horizons at Kent School
Horizons at Kent School
Chestertown, Maryland
Horizons
at Kent School, which began in 1995 with 24 students, differs from
the other Horizons programs in that Kent is a rural school that
draws its students from across Kent county, the smallest county
in the state of Maryland. The students have bus rides of up to
an hour in order to participate in the Horizons Student Enrichment
Program.
This summer approximately 70 students will
spend mornings in academics, art and science, and afternoons
learning to swim, play sports, and going on local field trips.
During the winter months the Horizons connection continues through
reading tutors, and post cards sent to each of last year’s participants. This has developed
into a pen pal correspondence with Horizons kids.
