Before you reach the decision to start a program, Horizons National:
- Provides informational materials, including feasibility studies, strategic plans, budgets and the Horizons Affiliate Guidebook
- Meets with exploratory committee and board of trustees, as needed
- Arranges for site visits to Horizons programs
- Provides contact information of trustees, school administration and staff at Horizons Affiliates
As you start a program, Horizons National:
- Provides significant seed funding
- Leverages Horizons National’s connections for fundraising
- Assists in identifying, contacting and presenting to local and regional funders
After you start a program, Horizons National provides:
- Funding support for strategic program components
- Guidance in governance, fundraising, operations and long-range planning
- Experienced EDs and Board Chairs as mentors
- Centralized databases including lesson plans, grant proposals and program statistics
- National marketing and public relations management system including central website with links to all Horizons programs, news articles, and representation at national education conferences
- Marketing supplies and templates
- Two professional development conferences each year for Horizons staff and board
- Monthly Executive Director conference calls to share network information and best practices
- Retreats for affiliate Board development
